How did you get in the loop?

In early March, just as the global Covid crisis began, Mind Springs Health launched their employee engagement app with Eloops. 3 months on, we asked Amy from Mind Springs Health to share with us how the company has navigated, from identifying the need for an employee engagement app up until now, during these unusual times!

What is your mission as an organization?

We rebuild lives and inspire hope by providing exceptional mental health and addiction recovery care, strengthening the health and vitality of our communities.

NEEDS & PAINS

Why do you need Eloops?

Employees often do not work together, if not in the same office. We wanted a way in which employees could “meet” each other in a different way.

Distributed Employees

Our company employs about 550 individuals, across 10 counties in northwest Colorado. The geography includes an urban area (small city), rural, frontier, and resort areas, ranging from high desert environments to mountain & ski communities. In terms of square miles, we serve an area larger than the state of Maryland.

Workforce Diversity

In terms of employees, we range from staff working in our psychiatric hospital, to community teams, to employees at a 90-day substance abuse treatment facility for women, to general outpatient offices for mental health and substance abuse treatment.

Employee Feedback

Employee surveys consistently provide feedback about the need for improving communication across our very complex and vast organization. We also tend to get feedback from employees wanting more work-life balance and fun, with respect to work.

SOLUTION

How do you solve your challenges with Eloops?

We conceptualized Eloops as a way in which to get information out to our employees in a different way. We wanted a way in which employees could receive information that could be digested quickly, and/or as a way to promote more lighthearted information.

Social Feed

  • We use push notifications about specific topics.
  • We also prompt conversation starters in the feed in order to encourage specific responses.
  • Employees are “meeting” each other through their use of the feed.
  • Pictures and videos are uploaded often.

Recognition

People are sharing Fun-nominal Funds (coins) with each other as a way to show appreciation.
